About Me

Matthew Masino is a theatre director based in Chicago, Illinois. He currently works as the Community Engagement Manager at the American Writers Museum and is a company member at Lazy Suzan Theatre Co.

Professional credits include Sorry to Let This Drag On and Shakespeare as Sex Ed with BYOT Productions, Events Horizon a reading for the International Voices Project, and a workshop production of Aubrey Vora's iBully.

He graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BFA in Theatre Directing. At Columbia, he directed WW™D by Ana Nordwig (world premiere), Ken Ludwig's The Fox on the Fairway, Wolves by Steve Yockey, and Heart’s Desire by Caryl Churchill.

He was the founder and Artistic Director of theatrestars, a non-profit theatre company that provides free theatrical entertainment to retirement homes in Thousand Oaks, CA. With the company he directed The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County adapted by Joseph McDonough, Getting Sara Married by Sam Bobrick, and Mind Over Matt by Scott Haan. For his work with theatrestars, Matthew was awarded a Christian Service Award by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. 

 

Stage management credits include Caroline, or Change (Dir. Adam Goldstein; Music Dir. Jermaine Hill), Harlowe (Dir. Kass Ferland Haround), and Land of the Free (Dir. Nathan Clifford). Production manager credits include the 2019 New Plays Festival at Columbia College Chicago.
