SPRING AWAKENINGS
by Frank Wedekind, translated by Francis J. Ziegler.
Directed by Matthew Masino
Presented by Lazy Susan Theatre Co.
April 24, 2025 - May 11, 2025
In a world where curiosity is stifled and questions are met with silence, a group of teenagers finds themselves thrust into the chaos of adolescence without a guide. Melchior, an intellectual rebel; Wendla, an inquisitive girl; and Moritz, a boy burdened by academic pressures—grapple with their budding desires and the harsh realities of growing up in a society that refuses to provide answers. When it first premiered in 1906, Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening ignited scandal and censorship with its daring exploration of sexuality and rebellion that remains relevant today as a timeless exploration of the dawning of youth.
KINDERGARTEN MOVIES
For more than a decade, I've had the privilege of working with the Kindergarten class at Saint Paschal Baylon School in Thousand Oaks, CA. Each year, we create a unique Kindergarten Retold production starring the students. Each year, I work to engage the students in the creative process and give them a memory they won't soon forget.

“The good die young—but not always. The wicked prevail—but not consistently. I am confused by life, and I feel safe within the confines of the theatre.”
